Population:
The population of Cambodia is approximately 14 million, over two million of whom reside in Phnom Penh. 90% of the population comprises Khmer, with large minorities of Vietnamese and Chinese, Thai, Budong, Mnong Preh, Kuy, Chong and Chams.
Weather and Climate:
Cambodia has a tropical climate that is warm and humid. There are three distinct seasons: Rainy season (June to October) 27 to 35 degrees Celsius; Cool dry season (November to February) 17 to 27 degrees Celsius; Hot dry season (March to May) 29 to 38 degrees Celsius.
Language:
The official language is Khmer with secondary languages English and French.
Religion:
The state religion is Theravada Buddhism, with minorities practicing Islam and Christianity.

The unit of currency is the Cambodian Riel (KHR) which is issued in denominations of 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 5000, 10,000, 50,000 and 100,000.

It is easy and affordable to get around on buses, metered taxis and motorcycle taxis. The quaint cyclo is a good way for tourists to see the sights around town.
Travel Information
Travel from Singapore:
Direct flights from Singapore, one hour fifty-five minutes.
Airport:
Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) is located 7km west of the city centre. Taxis to the city are available from the arrival hall.
Departure Tax:
A departure tax of USD25 per adult and USD13 per child (under 12 years) is payable before departure.
Passports and Visas:
Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months from date of entry. Nationals of Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore are permitted to enter Cambodia without visa for a one-month stay. All other nationalities may refer to their local embassy or the website for of the Embassy of Cambodia more information.
Duty Concessions:
The following goods can be taken into Cambodia duty-free: 200 cigarettes, cigars or tobacco, one bottle of spirit, a reasonable amount of perfume. Prohibited items include narcotics, obscene literature, pornography, antiques, weaponry and ammunition. Export of local flora and fauna is not permitted.
